This member of the Geraniaceae family was given this name by Elizabeth M. Marais in 1999. It is found from Cape Province to Northern Cape in South Africa, growing in a well drained soil with some water and some to lots of sun. The caudex can grow to one and a half centimetres in diameter, the entire plant to ten centimetres in height. The flowers are white with red markings.

The genera name from Greek; pelargos; 'stork' for the ripening fruits, which resembles the bills of storks. The species name referring to the very small and insignificant petals.

This is a winter-grower.
