This member of the Peperomiaceae family was
given this name by Marie-Stéphanie Samain & Guillermo Pino in 2011. It is found in
central Peru, around 2500 meters height, growing in a well
drained soil with some water and some sun. The caudex can grow
to 1,5 to 2,2 centimetres in diameter, the leaves to 5 to 14
centimetres, and the greenish flowers up to 20 centimetres.
It is named in honour of Werner
Rauh, a famous German botanist, who found it in 1983. |
