This member of the Lamiaceae
family was given this name by Carl
Ludwig von Willdenow in 1806. It is found on Hawai'i,
French Polynesia and in Australia; New South Wales,
Queensland, Victoria and Indonesia; Irian Jaya, Lesser Sunda Islands.
It grows in a well drained soil with some water and some sun. The
plant can grow to 50 centimetres in high with a base around ten
centimetres. The flowers are light blue, and besides from seeds, it
can easily be reproduced by cuttings. |
