This member of the Orchidaceae family was
given this name by Wes E. Higgins in 1998. It is found in Costa Rica
and Panama, growing as an epiphyte in open rain- and cloud forests with
lots of water and some sun. The pseudobulbs can grow to eight
centimetres in diameter and 20 centimetres long. The leaves grows up
to 50 centimetres and the inflorescent to 65 centimetres, bearing
the many greenish-white, dark maroon and pink flowers. |
