This member of the Asclepiadaceae*
family was given this name by
Karl Moritz Schumann in 1900. It is found in the Eastern Africa,
growing in a well drained soil with some water and some sun.
The caudex can grow to twelve centimetres, the branches will reach for
one and a half meter. The flowers are white, and the plant can be reproduced both by
seeds and cuttings.
*This family might
been incorporated in the Apocynaceae
family now.

after Dr.Rudolf Schlechter (1872-1925) a German botanist from
Berlin.
