This member of the
Tecophilaeaceae family was described by Nicolaas Joseph von Jacquin in 1791. It is found
in the heights of south-western South Africa, growing in a well
drained soil with quite some water and not that much sun. The bulb
will grow to three centimetres in diameter, the whole plant up to 40
centimetres height. The flowers are from almost white to pink.
Seen as a member of the Amaryllidaceae family.
