   This member of the Vitaceae family was described by Bernard M. Descoings in 1964. It is found on Madagascar, growing in a well drained soil with some water and some sum. The caudex can grow to 1,2 meters in diameter, the vines can reach for ten meters. 

"macrocarpa" means big seeds.
