This member of the Euphorbiaceae
was described by Ferdinand
Albin Pax and Käthe Hoffmann in 1910. It is from
Malawi and Zambia, where it
grows in a well drained soil with some to lots of water and sun. The
caudex can grow to ten centimetres in diameter and 30 centimetres
long, the stem up to one meter. The flowers are yellow.
