This member of the Fabaceae was given this name by Bernard Verdcourt  in 1969. It is found in the Central Africa, growing in well-drained soil with some water and lots of sun. The flowers are purple, and besides seeds, it might be possible to reproduce it by cuttings. The caudex can grow to 60 centimetres, the slightly veining branches up to two metres or more.
