This member of the
Phytolaccaceae family was described by Carl Linnaeus in 1762, and is found on the Pampas
in Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. It grows in rich peat
with lots of water from October to December, and lots of sun. The small
flowers are green, as well as the berries. It can both be reproduced by
seeds and cuttings. I found mine in a small flower stand in the streets
of Buenos Aires, where it can been seen in most parks and other green
areas.
