This member of the
Gesneriaceae family was given this name by Hans
Joachim Wiehler in 1975. It is found around Rio de Janeiro
in Brazil, growing in a rich soil with some to lots of water and
some sun. The caudex, which will form on cuttings, can grow to eight
centimetres or more in diameter. The branches reaches 60
centimetres. The flowers are bright red, but should also come in
lighter nuances of red ore even crème coloured.
