   This member of the Taccaceae family was named by John Bellenden Ker Gawler in 1812.  It is found in eastern Himalayas from Bhutan to Northeast India. It prefers a well drained rich peat like sphagnum, lots of water and not too much sun. The rhizomes will grow up to eight centimetres in diameter, the whole plant can grow up to 1,2 meter. The spectacular flowers are white to light pink.

This plant needs a high humidity.
