This member of the Lamiaceae family was
given this name by Leslie Edward Wastell Codd in 1983. It is found in
South Africa, growing along rivers in a well
drained soil with some water and some sun. The slightly swollen stem
can grow to ten centimetres in diameter, the dense bus can grow to
two or even five metres in height. The flowers are from white over
pink to pale violet.
The name comes from Tetradenia
= four glands, and riparia = growing along rivers.
