This member of the
Gesneriaceae family was given this name by Alain Chautems in
1990. It is found in southern Brazil, growing in a rich but drained soil with
some water and some to lots of sun. The caudex can grow to 30
centimetres, the stems to 40 centimetres or more. The flowers are
light red to red with a lighter interior. The leave-stalks rather
short.
The genera is named after
Wilhelm Sinning,1792–1874, a gardener of the Botanische Gärten der
Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn. The species name means 'lined'. |
