This member of the
Orchidaceae family was
given this name by Heinrich Gustav Reichenbach. It is found in the
rain forests of Belize, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico, growing
either as an epiphyte or in a well
drained soil with lots of water and some sun. The pseudobulbs will
grow to four centimetres, the plant up to 45 centimetres. The
flowers are white with pink or purple tips.
