   This member of the Moringaceae family was given this name by Heinrich Gustav Adolf Engler in 1902. It is found only in cultivated in south western Madagascar, growing in a well drained soil with some water and some to lots of sun. The stem can grow to one meter in diameter, and the tree can reach a height of 20 metres. The flowers are white to cream coloured. 

Named after the botanist Hildebrandt, who collected the first specimen in 1880.
