This member of the Peperomiaceae family was
given this name by Guido Mathieu in 2011. It is found in southern
Bolivia at 2900 metres height. It is found in an area with a rather
dry, rocky soil with little to some water and some to lots of sun. The caudex
can grow to four centimetres in diameter. The leaves reach ten
centimetres and with the greenish flowers, the plant reach 20
centimetres. The genera name means
'pepper-like', not as to appearance but as to kinship. The
species name
referring to the pattern on the leaves.
')Accordantly to the latest taxonomic system; APG IV 2016 is
Peperomiaceae
now part of
the Piperaceae. |
