This member of the Sterculiaceae*
family was described by K. Schumann. It is from Ethiopia, Kenya and
Somalia where it
grows in open forests with some water and some sun. It will grow to
ten meters with a trunk one meter in diameter. The flowers are
greenish to yellowish, and the plant can be reproduced both by seeds
and cuttings.
*This family might been incorporated
in the Malvaceae
family now, as sub-family: Sterculioideae, tribe: Sterculieae.
