This member of the Passifloraceae family was described by Hermann August Theodor Harms in 1923. It is found in Mozambique, Tanzania and Zambia, growing in a well drained soil with some water and some to lots of sun. I think the caudex can grow up to 30 centimetres in diameter, and the vines up to 2,5 meters in length.

The leaves have a vide variety of appearances, even on the same plant.
