This member of the Asclepiadaceae* family was described by Pierre Choux in 1923. It is found on Madagascar, growing in a well drained soil with some water and some to lots of sun. The tubers can grow to three centimetres or more in diameter, the vines can grow to one or even two metres. The flowers are crème coloured, and the plant can be reproduced both by seeds and cuttings.

*This family might been incorporated in the Apocynaceae family now.
