This member of the Vitaceae family was described by Bernard M. Descoings in 1963. It is found in Tulear, Madagascar, growing in a well drained soil with some water and some sun. The flat caudex can grow up to 60 centimetres in diameter and the vines reach a height of two meters. The flowers are yellowish-green.
