This member of the Fabaceae was described by David J. Du Puy, Peter B.Phillipson and Raymond Rabevohitra in 1995. It is found on Madagascar, the flowers are from white via crème to yellow. It will grow to three meters and the stem can get 40 centimetres in diameter.

Former a Caesalpiniaceae. Now, it's a sub-family to the Fabaceae: Caesalpinioideae.
