This little member of the Eriospermaceae family was described by Augusta Vera Duthie in 1940. It is found in the Cape Province of South Africa, growing in a well drained soil with some water and some sun. The caudex can grow to four centimetres in diameter, the leaves to three centimetres height. The flowers are white with green bands.
