   This member of the Hyacinthaceae  family was given this name by John Gilbert Baker in 1886. It is found in South Africa, growing in a well drained soil with some water and some to lots of sun. The bulb can grow to six centimetres in diameter, the leaves reach 20 centimetres and the flowers 60 centimetres.
