This member of the Pedaliaceae family was described by Heinrich Gustav Adolf Engler. It is found in Tanzania,  Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya and Tanzania, growing in a well drained soil or grit with some water and quite some sun. It will raise to three meters, and the flowers are usually white.
