   This member of the Lamiaceae family was given this name by John Kenneth Morton in 1962. It was originally found on Mauritius. It grows in rich but well drained soil. The plant will raise up to 60 cm, the round potato-like bulbs grow up to three centimetres in diameter. The flowers are pale blue.
