This little member of the Euphorbiaceae family was given this name by Jiří Soják in 1972. It is found on Crete, Cyprus and in Turkey, growing in a well drained soil with some water and some to lots of sun. The caudex can grow to four centimetres in diameter, the whole plant up to fifteen centimetres height. 
 

The genera name is an ancient name used by Pliny the Elder to describe a Euphorbia. The species name means 'two formed stem-less'.
