Adjusting the disc-brakes.                       More repairs

Tools needed: 2 + 5 mm unbrako.
Secure your bike from falling over.

For daily service, tighten the cables with the adjustments, found both on the brake-handles and the brakes, will be sufficient.

You might consider greasing the cables.

Remember to screw the big nut all the way into the brake, after adjusting.

However, are they screwed quite some out, you will have to tighten the cable this way:

Check the brake-pads visually from above. You should replace the padding, when you have less than 0,2 mm left in each side. That is another operation, but nice to get check by now.

Open the clam for the cable on the brakes, with a 5 mm unbrako.

While the outer one of the pads are pushed in, while you brake, the inner is passive, and have to be adjusted separately:
Loosen the safety-pin with a 2 mm unbrako.

Tighten the big 5 mm unbrako till you fell a bit of resistance, spinning the wheel, and loosen till you don't.

Then tighten the safety-pin again.

If you have the bolts for adjusting the angle of the brake-grips, use it to set the distance from the grip to the brake-handles, if you like, with a 2 mm unbrako.

Replace the cables, and screw the four adjustments on the cables all the way in, both on the handlebar and on the brakes.

If you don't use the handbrakes: Loosen the two adjustments on the brakes, one turn.
If you use the handbrakes, don't bother.

If you use your hand-brakes, put them on.

Pull the cable with your fingers, while pressing the brake on with the thumb. Tighten the unbrako on the cable. You should now have the wheels slightly braked.

If you don't use the hand-brakes, screw the adjustments on the brakes back in. If you use the hand-brakes, take them off.

Your brakes should now be loose, till you activate the brake handles. You can fine-tune it with the adjustment. Remember to screw the big nut all the way into the brake, after adjusting. If they are too tight; the brake on, you have to loosen the cable a bit - see above.

Go out for a ride and enjoy your Strida!
