Meaning of the
name: I have named after the town in
which it is found, as I had no other
name. However, it is mentioned in the
old book; Danske
Kæmpesten; DK 173-1. The name Hvalsø
comes from Hwelpsyø, which meant puppy
lake, and refers to the large shallow
lake, which previously lay west of the

thrown by the troll in Grøntved Høje
after the bells of Tøløse Church.
