This member of the Nolinaceae
family was given this name by
Charles Lemaire in 1861. It is found in the
central Mexico, growing in a well drained soil with some water and
lots of sun. The stem can grow up to three and a half meter in
diameter and reach five meters in height. The flowers are from crème
coloured to maroon. |

I did see a lot of wild plants in Mexico,
but this one is from a botanical garden! |
