This member of the
Asteraceae family was
given this name by Friedrich Richard Rudolf Schlechter in 1899 . It is found in
both Eastern Cape, Northern Cape and Western Cape, South Africa, growing in a well
drained soil like sand or grit with some water and some to lots of sun. The swollen
stem can grow to three centimetres in diameter and reach 30
centimetres in height. The flowers are yellow.
