This member of the Icacinaceae family was described by Heinrich Gustav
Adolf Engler. It is
found in Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya and Tanzania, growing in grit on hill-sides with
little water and
lots of sun. The caudex can grow to one and a half meter in diameter! The stems
15 meters high.
