I'm not sure this will
qualify as a caudiciform, but here it is. This member of the Cyperaceae family was
given this name by Ridley in 1884. It is found
in the Cape Province and up north to Mozambique, growing in
sand with some water and lots of sun. The thick roots will grow up
to two centimetres in diameter, the plant up to 40 centimetres high.
The flowers are white.
capensis means:
of the cape.
