This member of the Vitaceae was described by
Ferdinand Jacob Heinrich von Mueller in 1859. It is
found in New South Wales and Queensland, Australia. It grows in sand
with some water and not too much sun. The vines will reach
for six meters, the flowers are crème to green. The caudex will stop
growing when exposed, like many others. I hope to learn more...
The generic name is derived
from the Greek word κισσος kissos, meaning 'ivy'. The species
name means 'dark, with a dull surface'.
Seen in IPNI as an Ampelidaceae.
