This member of the Euphorbiaceae family was described by Vahl in 1791 It is found on the Arabian Peninsula, in Sudan, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania, growing in grit nor an other well drained soil with some water and lots of light. The stem can grow to four centimetres in height.
