This member of the Euphorbiaceae family was given this name by A.Hassler or was it Baillion in 1863? It is found in the Cape Province, South Africa, growing in a well drained soil with little water and some to lots of sun. The caudex can grow to three centimetres in diameter, the plant up to one centimetres height, eight if the root is exposed. The flowers are brownish.
