This member of the Balsaminaceae
family was described by Craib in 1926. It is found in the heights of
the Chiang Dao
mountain, Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand, growing in limestone
pockets with some water and some sun. The thickened stem will grow
to ten centimetres in diameter and reach for one meter in height.
The flowers will appear in February, and are white with a pink or
orange centre. This plant can only be reproduced by seeds.
