This member of the
Balsaminaceae family was given this name by Tatemi Shimizu
and Piyakaset Suksathan in 2004. It is found
in Kanchanaburi Province of Thailand, growing in a well drained limestone soil with
some to lots of water and some sun. The caudex can grow to 15
centimetres in diameter, the annual stems to 30 centimetres. The

The genera name means
'impatience', referring to the fruits which pops when ripe and
touched. The species is named after Chamlong Phengklai: a Thai
botanist. |
