This member of the Balsaminaceae family was given this name by Tatemi Shimizu and Piyakaset Suksathan in 2004. It is found in Kanchanaburi Province of Thailand, growing in a well drained limestone soil with some to lots of water and some sun. The caudex can grow to 15 centimetres in diameter, the annual stems to 30 centimetres. The flowers are red and orange.

The genera name means 'impatience', referring to the fruits which pops when ripe and touched. The species is named after Chamlong Phengklai: a Thai botanist.
