This monoecious member of the Cucurbitaceae was given this name by CÚlestin Alfred Cogniaux in 1881, and is found in Namibia and South Africa. It preferring well-drained soil, lots of water in the growing-period and some sun, but not necessary much. The small flowers are yellow, and it can also be reproduced by cuttings. The caudex can grow to 50 centimetres in diameter, and the vines reaches six meters. I have found most in forests.

The genera name from Greek kedrostis, 'white Bryony', the ancient name of a scrambling cucurbit. The species name as it originates from Africa.

The should be the right plant from Mbuyu. RM 104.
