This member of the Asteraceae
family was given
this name by Alwin Berger in 1905. It is found in eastern
Africa, growing in a well drained soil with some
water and lots of sun. The caudex can grow up to eight
centimetres in diameter, the whole plant can grow up to 30
centimetres. The flowers are scarlet,
Kleinia abyssinica var.
hildebrandtii has yellow flower.
Named after the German zoologist,
Dr Klein (1685-1759). |
