This member of the
Euphorbiaceae family was
given this name by Otto Stapf in 1900. It is found in Malawi and Tanzania, growing in a well
drained soil with some water and some to lots of sun. The caudex
can grow to four centimetres, the stem up to 80 centimetres height.
The flowers are pale green.
The genera name
from the Greek monos;
'one' and -aden; 'gland', referring to the solitary gland.
The species name means 'smooth' for the leaves. |
