   This member of the Hyacinthaceae family was described by Jacquin in 1789. It is found in South Africa and Namibia, growing in a well drained soil with little to some water and lots of sun. The bulbs will grow to two and a half centimetres in diameter, the whole plant from ten to fifty centimetres height. The flowers are yellow with green lines.
