This member of the Bombacaceae*
family was given this name by José
Luis Fernández Alonso in 2003. It is only found on Cuba,
growing in a well drained soil with quite some water and some to
lots of sun.

in the Malvaceae
family now. Sub-family: Bombacoideae.
