    This member of the Cucurbitaceae family was described by M. Keraudren in 1960. It is found on Southwest Madagascar, growing in well drained soil with some water and some sun. The potato-like roots can grow to three centimetres in diameter, the branches to 40 centimetres height. The flowers are white.
