This member of the Gesneriaceae family was given this name by Fritsch in 1894.
It's found in Southern America. Drained peat, some water and keep in light shade.
The bulb will grow to 10 centimetres, the stems to 80 centimetres. It's
grows as a garden-plant for its fine white flowers, and can be
reproduced both by seeds and bulb-dividing. I found mine of an unknown
plant in Box Hill, Australia in 2002.
