The seedlings got this big.

The small pink flowers.

This member of the Portulacaceae family was given this name by Gaertner in 1791. Found in the central part of America, growing in well-drained soil with some water and lots of sun. The stem will reach for one meter, the flowers are pink to yellowish. I got some seeds from Corbas, France in 2002, but haven't had that much success. Maarten van Thiel could - of course.

The seeds I got from MagicChris germinated December ´02. They never got more leaf, just melted away, again and again, kept dry/wet/dark/sunny. Then I made a short-cut, and bought a plant!

Dominique Mas from Paris gave me this advice: I would advise trying again with a more sandy and draining soil, that will not keep moisture to long. Sunlight is highly advisable as soon as the plant is 1 cm high or even less. Works for him.

The small seeds. The grit it five millimetres.
