This member of the Portulacaceae family was given this name by Moritz Kurt Dinter in 1914. Found in the Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Zambia and South Africa, growing in well-drained soil with some water and some sun. The caudex can grow to nine centimetres, the stem will reach for 40 centimetres. The flowers are yellow.
