This member of the Alliaceae family was given this name by Beauverd in 1909. It is found in South Africa, growing in a well drained soil with some water and some to lots of sun. The bulbs will grow up to five centimetres, the whole plant up to 70 centimetres. The flowers are from almost white over the more common light pink to pink.

This might be a winter grower.
