The stone was under restoration work in the church found in 1964 at the foundations of the late Gothic tower, but may come from the older Romanesque tower which remains have been found nearby. It is one of the few rune stones raised on Zealand after the introduction of Christianity.

The stone is a mix of granite and gneiss and measure 170 centimetres in height, 120 centimetres in wide and it is 56 centimetres thick. It vas carved around 970 to 1020.

The inscription: "þorgotr/Þurgundr satti sten þænsi æftiR Halfdan, faþur sin "
