This member of the Cactaceae family was
first described by Hermano Leon in 1934. It is from Cuba, Bonaire and
other islands in the central America, where it grows in grit or old
corals on the hill-sides. It gets lots of water in two months
and lots of sun all year. It will grow to 10 centimetres in diameter and
10 centimetres high. The flowers are pink/yellow, and seeds are the only
way of reproducing.
